We are so happy to be able to say that we will be broadcasting from Phonic FM Exeter’s Community Radio on the 8th of March 2021, International Women’s Day.
All programmes will be pre-recorded to ensure everyone is safe and well.
Occupy the Airwaves 2021 is forging ahead and we are currently training twelve women to learn how to make a radio programme and production. This is led by John Wigzall of Ears, Nose and Throat with a series of guest presenters.
This year we are working in partnership with Co-Lab Exeter Resilient Women programme who will be making two programmes to be broadcast on the day!
We will be airing on International Women’s Day Monday 8th March 2021 on Phonic FM Exeter’s Community Radio for at least 16 hours from 8am until Midnight.
Many thanks to all our funders for this; Awards for All, Elmgrant Trust, Institute of Arab and Islamic Studies at Exeter University, and Devon County Councillors. We are really excited to be able to continue this amazing work, whilst also very sad that we won’t be gathering in person at Exeter Phoenix as in previous years.
Our Occupy The Airwaves 2020 broadcast was a finalist in the National Community Radio Awards as part of Phonic FM’s offer, which is amazing for our first submission. This was out of over four hundred entries! You can listen to last years programmes here:
A testimony to everyone involved! Thank you!
Please watch this space for details of programmes as they emerge.
