Calm Down Dear Festival 2016

Calm Down Dear Festival originates and continues to flourish in its 4th year at Camden People’s Theatre. This acclaimed Festival of feminist theatre was launched in 2013.

This year for the first time it has extended its reach and Exeter’s Bikeshed Theatre – in association with Theatre Rush – is hosting a branch of the festival for the very first time.  We are really pleased to be launching the festival with a performed reading of The Orchard for one night only on Tuesday 4th October, 2016.

Our performed reading of The Orchard:

Written by Natalie McGrath
Directed/Dramaturgy by Josie Sutcliffe
Musical Composition by Claire Ingleheart with Sarah Moody
Performers: Ruth Mitchell, Saskia Portway and Michelle Ridings
Produced by Charlie Parker
Tech: Amy Spencer

played to a sell out audience on the night, and we then had a dialogue with our audience afterwards about the work and its content.  Some really rich thoughts and feedback came back from the audience.  This was our last ever performed reading of the work as part of our ongoing research and development of the work.  We are hoping to tour in 2017 across the South West region.

Many thanks to everyone who supported us on the night.
